Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 2026
1. Overview & Our Approach to Privacy
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how OpenOmen ("Platform", "Protocol", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the Platform. The Platform is decentralized by design. We do not maintain user accounts, require email registration, collect identity documents, or store personal identity profiles. This is a fundamental architectural choice, not a policy omission.
Your identity on the Platform is represented solely by your Solana wallet address, which is a pseudonymous public key. All on-chain activity associated with that address is publicly visible on the Solana blockchain, regardless of your use of this Platform.
By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree with our data practices described herein, please do not access the Platform.
2. Information We Encounter
2.1 Wallet Address (Public Key)
When you connect a Solana wallet to the Platform, your public wallet address becomes visible to our web frontend. This address is a public identifier on the blockchain and is not personal information in the traditional sense — it is a pseudonymous cryptographic public key. We use it to display your positions, created markets, and transaction history as already recorded on-chain. We do not associate your wallet address with any personal identity unless you voluntarily disclose such a connection.
2.2 On-Chain Transaction Data
All interactions with the Platform's smart contracts — including market creation, position deposits, market resolution, and fund claims — are recorded as transactions on the Solana blockchain. This data is public, permanent, and accessible to anyone without restriction. Our indexer reads and organizes this publicly available data to power the Platform interface. We do not originate or privately store this data; we index data that is already publicly on-chain.
2.3 Technical & Infrastructure Data
Like any web service, our servers and infrastructure may automatically log certain technical data when you access the Platform, including:
- IP address (used for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and legal compliance when required)
- Browser type, version, and operating system
- Date and time of access
- Pages or endpoints accessed and HTTP response codes
- Referring URLs
This data is collected at the infrastructure level for security, fraud prevention, and compliance support. It is not used to build identity profiles and is retained only as long as operationally necessary.
2.4 Browser Local Storage (Client-Side Only)
The Platform stores certain preference data in your browser's local storage, including your timezone display preference and wallet connection state. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time through your browser's settings. We do not use browser cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
2.5 Information You Do NOT Provide to Us
We do not collect, request, or process: your name, email address, phone number, physical address, government-issued identification, date of birth, or any other traditional personal identifying information. There is no account creation process, no identity profile system, and no support ticketing system requiring personal identification.
3. How We Use Information
The limited information we encounter is used exclusively to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform's web interface and indexer
- Display on-chain market and position data in a readable format
- Support legal/compliance operations and platform security controls
- Detect and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or prohibited activity
- Maintain the security and integrity of our infrastructure
- Comply with applicable legal obligations, including responses to lawful government requests
- Investigate and respond to technical issues and potential security incidents
We do not use any data for targeted advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not collect personal information and therefore do not sell it. The limited technical data we process may be disclosed to third parties only in the following circumstances:
- Infrastructure & Service Providers: We use third-party providers for hosting, content delivery, RPC access to the Solana network, and similar operational services. These providers process only the minimum data necessary and are contractually bound to use it solely for the purpose of providing services to us.
- Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, regulation, court order, subpoena, or lawful request from governmental or regulatory authorities. We will attempt to notify you of such requests to the extent permitted by law.
- Protection of Rights: We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our legal rights, enforce these Terms, or prevent imminent harm to persons or property.
5. The Immutable Nature of Blockchain Data
This is critically important to understand: All transactions executed through the Platform are recorded on the Solana blockchain, which is a public, decentralized, and permanent ledger. This means:
- Your wallet address and all associated on-chain activity are visible to anyone in the world, indefinitely
- No one — including us — can delete, modify, or hide blockchain transaction records
- If your wallet address is linked to your real-world identity by any means, your entire on-chain history becomes identifiable
- Third parties may independently index, analyze, and publish your on-chain activity
We strongly recommend understanding blockchain privacy implications before interacting with any on-chain protocol, including ours.
6. Local Storage, Cookies & Tracking
The Platform uses browser local storage exclusively for functional purposes: persisting your timezone preference and wallet connection state between sessions. This data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to us.
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies. We do not integrate third-party advertising networks or behavioral analytics platforms.
We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand aggregate platform usage (e.g., page views, error rates) without identifying individual users. If we do so, we will update this Policy accordingly.
7. Data Security
The core financial data of the Platform (deposits, positions, resolutions) lives on-chain and is secured by the Solana blockchain's cryptographic guarantees — not by us. Our infrastructure (indexer, API, web frontend) processes only publicly available on-chain data, which by definition is not confidential.
We apply standard access controls and security practices to our backend infrastructure to prevent unauthorized modifications to indexed data or service disruptions. However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Your responsibility: The security of your cryptoassets depends entirely on the security of your private keys and seed phrase. We have no ability to access, recover, freeze, or return your assets under any circumstances. Never share your private key or seed phrase with anyone, including us.
8. Data Retention
We retain indexed on-chain data (market data, position data, transaction records) indefinitely as this reflects the permanent public state of the blockchain. Removing this indexed data from our system would not delete it from the blockchain.
Server and infrastructure logs (IP addresses, access logs) are retained for a limited period as required for security and compliance purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymized. We do not retain any personal information beyond what is described in this Policy.
9. Your Data & Control
The Platform is decentralized and does not maintain user accounts or personal identity profiles. This means the traditional privacy rights framework (GDPR access, correction, deletion requests) applies in a limited way:
- On-chain data — your wallet address and all associated transactions — is public and immutable. It cannot be modified, anonymized, or deleted by anyone, including us. This is a fundamental property of public blockchains.
- Indexed data in our backend is a read-only mirror of public blockchain data. Removing it from our index would not affect its availability on the blockchain itself.
- Browser local storage (your timezone and wallet state) is entirely under your control. You can view and clear it at any time through your browser's developer tools or settings.
- Infrastructure logs (IP addresses, access logs) are retained for limited periods. If you are in a jurisdiction granting rights over such data, you may contact us to request information about what we hold, subject to our legal obligations.
To exercise any data rights or ask questions about the data we process, contact us through our official support channels. We will respond to legitimate requests in accordance with applicable law, while noting the inherent limitations described above.
10. International Data Transfers
Our infrastructure may be hosted in or rely on service providers in jurisdictions other than your country of residence. By using the Platform, you acknowledge that technical data (such as server logs) may be processed in such jurisdictions. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any data transfers are handled in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
11. Age Restriction
The Platform is not intended for persons under 18 years of age. Because the Platform has no user registration system and no identity verification, we are technically unable to proactively detect or prevent access by minors. If you are under 18, you are expressly prohibited from using the Platform. If we become aware of access by a minor through our infrastructure logs, we will take reasonable steps to prevent continued access.
12. Third-Party Services & Links
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, blockchain explorers, or external resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of such third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with. Our interactions with RPC providers (which are required to relay transactions to the Solana network) are governed by those providers' own terms and privacy policies.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Platform, applicable law, or our operational practices. Updated versions will be posted on the Platform with a revised "Last Updated" date. We are not obligated to provide individual notification of changes. Your continued use of the Platform after the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
14. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, the data we process, or wish to exercise any applicable data rights, please contact us through our official support channels. Please note that due to the nature of a decentralized protocol, many requests may be technically impossible to fulfill, and we will always respond honestly about such limitations.
